When we first visited @kenziemariehome’s yard, we saw a space brimming with potential — a beautiful Southern home framed by established greenery and wide-open spaces that just needed a little direction. With the help of the Southern Living Plant Collection and Encore Azalea, we set out to refresh her landscape for fall, transforming both front and back into inviting, year-round spaces that balance beauty with function.
The result? A layered, evergreen landscape full of color, texture, and cozy seasonal charm — proving that with the right plants, you can make your home look its best in every season.

Explore Each Space
Each area of Kenzie’s landscape shows how thoughtful planting design — paired with hardy, beautiful selections from the Southern Living Plant Collection and Encore Azalea — can transform everyday spaces into seasonal showpieces.
The Back Porch → Cozy up this space with evergreens, texture, and a touch of fall color. Fire Chief™ Arborvitae, Dragon Prince™ Cryptomeria, and Blush Pink™ Nandina pair beautifully with a red-blooming Encore Azalea to create a warm, inviting retreat.
The Back Wall → See how we used plants to hide unsightly areas and create a natural backdrop. With trellises, an outdoor shower cover, and layers of Carolina Jessamine, Leyland Cypress, Fire Chief Arborvitae™, and Blush Pink Nandina™, this once-functional wall now feels lush and beautifully intentional.
The Front Walkway → Learn how to add color and texture around established shrubs like Cleyera. Layers of Leyland Cypress, Blush Pink™ Nandina, and Autumn Embers® Encore Azalea bring fresh life and curb appeal to this classic front foundation.
The Front Porch → Get inspired with fall-colored containers featuring Southern Living favorites. Mojo® Pittosporum, Blush Pink™ Nandina, Dragon Prince™ Cryptomeria, and Fire Chief™ Arborvitae fill warm-toned pots scattered up the steps, framed by Heritage® Better Boxwoods at the door and ‘Yuletide’ Camellias anchoring the base.
